CBD/HEMP FARMING

What's a SIP?
in time when I not so busy, I'm going to work on this thread at some point, I recently impressed a guy that runs a legal cbd farm, well now I'm helping to run his farm, along with designing and getting everything running!

so figured why not get a thread rolling about it! below is the recipie I'm working on for him, it's cut back as much as I could, it will be for recycling organic soil once a year! it's a working progress tho! the bottom list is just things I've used I the past with my normal grow, that I no longer use ever, so why not put it use!CM190310-132023001.jpg

I might be starting a hemp farm with a guy i met as well lol. He's got money and equipment and land. He just doesn't know the first thing about growing lol.
my guy has had a family farm for hundreds of years I'm told, he knows a lot about farming and mass production, but less so about cannabis growing! and he has everything needed to make this blow up! we are actually perfect for each other, bc everything I need to learn he knows, and everything he needs to learn I know! it's kinda a crazy fit, but things are going along nicely! slow start, but we're starting to rock!

There's a guy at the bottom of my road who grows da hemp as well. He has tinctures/salves/seeds for sale locally and on the Net. The owners of the local hydro shop also did 3 acres of hemp last season...their first. Haven't needed anything from their store as of late so haven't heard how it went...but I do know they were going to get the guy down the road to process it for them. He must have a closed loop going er something down there.

Great stuff guys....just remember though.....and check out the stories from KY and other places where outdoor pot growers are starting to not be able to grow the plant WE love because of the errant pollen clouds floating around from the nearby hemp farms....

in my state, they ok'd it for farmers, course none are doing it yet. Ive told a few old friends that are farmers, non smokers, ought to consider it, especially considering how wet the last two yrs been, no hay, etc. But you have to get licenses etc, and there are only 2 processors in the state, but this state used to be one of the biggest producers back in the day, I read. Our outdoor mmj law is it has to be in a secured spot with a roof or covering, still get the errant pollen, but some of my farmer friends are seriously hurting right now, apparently late subsidy payments if they've even gotten em yet. I realize its not for cbd, but you see that hempcrete and the hemp bottles, aka plastic that is biodegradable, makes a man wonder

yea that sucks man! I don't really know much about all the rules and what not, I just focus on growing, let the boss man handle all that stuff lol! But he was smart, most ppl couldn't get their license or it was hard to get bc of the seeds they were using, or who they were getting them from, my buddy actually knew someone already legal, and worked out a deal to get tons of clones! so he was approved very easily!

now this year it's all about saving the genetics, and getting everything ready for the season! we're already way behind, but I think we can still pull it off, looking at about 7 months until harvest, but planning to run light dep. in greenhouses, and outdoor as well, but in the greenhouses, we have been discussing, running 2 6month cycles and spacing each one out a month apart!

honestly this is all in preperation for when we legalize the good stuff! lmfao, at least that's what I keep telling myself!

I'm glad the prevailing wind here is from my garden to my neighbor's hemp field. Didn't know it was even there until I stumbled across his web page/etc. The errant pollen and the fact that the State comes by and checks him/his garden spot is a worry...just what we need here in the boonies....but it is what it is. Not gonna stop me from doing what I do, for sure. He may not have grown anyhting last season...didn't see the fencing/etc up that he used the year previously. He may have had enough product/tincture/salve from the first go to span the gap. Everyone else is also jumping in....so it will be just like weed soon....everybody doin' it....nobody makin any REAL money. The PIE gets smaler and smaller by the day.

Like I say though...as long as I don't get seeded here with fuckin hemp pollen....all will be well. If that happens....i guess I could always drop a few males in the woods to repay the favor\with THC rich pollen for his garden...LOL. That'll fuck the wagon. Not that I'm like that...but c'mon...everyone has a RIGHT to grow cannabis...and if you license (different than a RIGHT) to grow hemp you bes' not traipse on my right for your profits...i don' care what it is yer growing/doin. Gonna be interesting to see where it all goes and how much hemp we truly need.... lotsa folks gonna lose their ass...just like the weed thing. Good luck green.........

Yea that's a huge problem. I'm not about that tho we're using clones like green said. But on that subject i was reading an article saying how pollen can float for miles and miles and still remain viable. Crazy shit.

That is true, cannot grow outdoors with industrial hemp being grown within several miles of ya. Has ruined everything.

Not much "Ag" land here for such things...thankfully.....but I was surprised at how much hempola the guy had growin' down the valley a bit when i first found out it was there. And I thought >>>I<<< liked plants....LOL. We also have severe water rights laws here that preclude many from growing outside so that limits many who might have tried to play. Gonna be interesting to see where it all goes.

And not sure about your laws there green...but here in CO....the entities/plants are completely seperate. Hemp over there by license...weed over here by license. there's no sliding from one to the other here after you get things up and running. In fact...I'd be surprised if you can get a "Rec" commercial license now. If you can...it'd be purchased from someone walking away/selling it outright and it would likely be 6 or 7 figures to procure @ this point in the game. Licenses here are/were very limited...mostly to those who stepped out on the limb as med shops....

Either way....all us little guys are left playing with our dicks.....but we likely won't go to jail...so it's a trade off..... uhhhum. No choice...ya do what you do.

Good luck out there folks...

My buddy is like 20 miles from the nearest industrial hemp farm and his last outdoor crop was ruined. 20 miles and it still got his ass.

At first I was around 35 miles and got a lot of seeds and that was from an East wind that lasted 1 day. I know have another one 5 miles from and it's NW of me. You have no bud it's just seeds.

I remember watching this dumbass cop on TV talking about his concerns with industrial hemp. Said he was worried about pot growers sticking their plants out in these fields and growing weed... I was like WTF!!! This guy is pure 100% stupid. That's the last thing pot growers want.

One other thing here is that their are lots of people stealing industrial hemp out of these fields and selling the shit. Lmao.

I had one guy who used to buy from me and quit because I wouldn't go down to $50 a zip. I told him fuck u that ain't happening. Well he bought 20 lbs of it. Ya it looks decent all trimmed up and heavy with all the seeds but it won't even get you any buzz at all. Now he's fucked and lost a lot of business. His dad brought me some of it to laugh over.
That's what greed does

I have been working on becoming a hemp grower. Two years ago I was hired to produce clones in greenhouses, and the company lost its funding before we got started. We went to Colorado to talk to a couple of hemp farmers there, and we checked out a 50-acre field of beautiful hemp plants near Colorado Springs. That guy grew only female clones so there was no pollen. I also met another hemp grower who had a field near Denver, and he grew both males and females, and he told me that the pollen was so thick in the air that at night it looked like dense fog. He said his neighbors were complaining about the pollen and wanted to shut him down. Once hemp growing takes off, outdoor marijuana growers will only be able to grow outdoors up wind from any hemp fields.

I hope that dont happen around here. Outdoor is my real passion. And traveling 20 miles it would have to be a huge dust cloud of pollen. Ive had locations with around 20 plants no more than a hundred yards apart in think brush about 8-15 ft in height and not cross pollinate. But if these farms have thousands of males dropping pollen theres no telling how far it could travel in a strong wind. This really worries me and im gonna have to agree with @stiickygreen and let them worry about the cross contamination also. Its the only way i see the hemp farmers even taking notice to the problem but if they dont worry about a seeded crop or use those seed for later crops they could care less anyway. Very worrisome!

The seed is a valuable part of the plant. It's where hemp oil comes from.
