I haven't seen one like that. I was talking to this dude on IG, chronicles of bhodley. He was telling me about a $300 unit that he was pretty impressed with. Can't remember what it's called, all I was thinking was.... great another way to spend more money, lol. I'll probably buy a nice one in the future.
I hear you, technology changes so dang fast I try not to chase it. Being a big spender I had a $100 price limit.

I have not seen a 4k one yet that is worthwhile but I haven't been looking lately. Did you look at that $300 one? Curious if it is a 4k.

It is a useful toy, I sure play with it a lot, pests & trichs.

He didn't mention the brand. Just said it was 4k UHD and up to 3500x magnification.

That's what I'm upgrading to. I have this one below. It great for the price. My shaky hands ruin it.

I just use a Canon Powershot, either set on Auto or Macro. I found that macro gets better shots if you have a steady hand, but unless you are using flash, pushing the button can move the camera just enough for blur.

Might just be on my camera or how I'm using it, but if the flash is up the picture seems more 'instantaneous" or something. Even if it's on auto and the flash doesn't go off.

The auto-focus seems to want to focus on the wrong thing all the time though which is why I take a bunch of pictures, then delete 90% of them.

Another trick I use is to take a "top-down" pic of one side of a flower. With the assortment of distances available for the camera to focus on, some little nugget of the pic usually comes out clear.

I was attacked by this creature on my last scuba adventure ;)
