Last guns I bought was when they tried a gun buy-back program - which is odd because they didn't sell them so how can they buy them back 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, with the price they were offering I went and bought a handfull of shiney new Hi-Point's and turned a sweet profit :ROFLMAO::cool:

I'll start my post like you'd expect...and finish with a new 'tude....thanks to...um....many of you!

"Damn liberals...always trying to take away the guns."
"It's getting harder and harder out there on all fronts to buy guns...."
"Soon they will come for our guns"

Such is what I always hear/have always heard...mostly from the Right... cus not a lot of my libtard friends own guns...or admit to owning guns. ;-) Truth is...it was far easier buying weapons than I ever imagined. OK...except paying for 'em and all of the bells and whistles...

oh...and the ammo. LOL...and I thought snorting cocaine in the 80's was pricey. It's all kinda like buying pot...but there are more restrictions here on selling pot in a retail setting than there are with selling guns. Yup. Huge loopholes too. Shit that...tracked as it is...you couldn't get by in a retail weed establishment here. No way.

Case in point.....We have a 15 round mag limit here in my state...but if you take the mags apart and stick em right back in the box...they become "parts" that you can do whatever you want with once you get em home. Thus...the rack @ the gun shop is full of 15-40 round pistol mags.....and larger ones than that for the "other pistols" (pistols, not "assault rifles", dammit...heehee) I'm told LEO can't fuck with ya for having the 15+ mags...cus ya coulda bought em pre-ban...but either way... the law had no real impact/nobody is doing anything about such current sales/sidesteps here and you can buy over 15 round mags here...no problemo. With weed...you can't break open the package/alter how it is sold/what it is labelled as for sale...or HOW it is sold. But hey...whatever, huh? LOL. Yup. Yup. Fuckin' Yup. I still think the whole "AR" thing is ridiculous...but I have softened (hardened?) a bit on a few other things...yup....

FYI....the background check took longer to sit down and fill out the form than the "OK" did to come in. (one was 15 mins...one was 5 mins. Somebody at the State musta been takin a shit) I think, maybe...it's because we have our own State system...or a tandem gig going on with the Fed rather than a straight up Federal check. Either way...painless as fuck. Scary easy. $10.50.

I also bought a tax stamp (OK...two) and plan to buy a suppressor (takes a year to get the stamp, I'm told...LOL) and set up a home range in the future.

My new toy. 18 shots. Came with 3 mags. May dot it...but am giving the trutium night sights a workout first. Haven't shot a pistol in decades til a few weeks ago...but look out bitches...heeeheeeheeehee... you may think the guy in the house with the Biden/BLM/Rainbow flag sign is unarmed...but that could be your last thought. Hardeharhar....

Let freedom ring vato!
Screw politics ESPECIALLY at the range.
I think we both can agree that some people shouldn't have guns (unfortunately it doesn't mean they can't/won't have access though). And I think we both could also agree if those individuals were to somehow gain access and make the decision to violate your peace and safety the ability to defend yourself with whatever you felt was appropriate is an individual/personal decision.

Like guns and weed I enjoy variety lol

Are your irons a three dot setup or two?

@Fiddler's Green ...... Agreed.

Again...it's like weed here. No righties own weed stores...and no lefties own gun shops. Politics have no bearing @ the purchase point when we all have the SAME rights. Some wanna whine their rights are being trampled...but they are in the same boat as everyone else. It was a super easy process. The laws are incredibly lax for what you are buying. I'll listen to their whine even less now that I've walked the path. I'm a total noob and they let us walk out with 2 firearms and 1000 rounds of ammo...LOL. I'm obviously not anti-gun...but I do think the gun laws should be tightened a bit to mirror weed laws if we're gonna count plants and make it illegal to take weight off of your property. No such laws exist.. or limits exist...surrounding guns here.
At least the Fed may lighten up on cannabis users owning guns/etc. Stupid shit when they don't ask about alcohol...or being an alkie. Definitely discriminatory.

Three dots. Gun came with 3 dots...but they were just white paint dots...no tritium. I like 'em. They glow well. May investigate a (green) dot in the future because of cataract surgery. Was prior to the new tri-focal lenses/choices of lenses....so I'm set up for LONG distances...not close in. One lens is focused slightly farther out. As a result...I have to close my right eye or I see double. Doesn't matter if I'm trying to focus on the back sight or front. Wife's gun has a tritium front and unlit back sights. She doesn't like em. Gonna buy her a dot and see what she thinks. Was stoked when she said "so which gun should I buy?" Definitely make spending $$ easier on this stuff. And damn...yeah...woot. It's all pricey shit!

Shoot 200 rounds through it yesterday. Fun stuff.

Variety, huh? Like what? I was blown away with all of the choices...though we did narrow things down a bit by going with the threaded barrel. Looked at H&K, FN, Canik, and Beretta...but the Walther Compact SD Pro was what felt the best/caught my eye with the trigger and wicked serrated slide.

Don't confuse the laws where you live with other states. There are states where it is, in fact, very difficult (MA and NJ are two great examples). In MA, we have what is called an "Approved handgun roster" which prevents us from buying about 90% of the handguns on the market. Only specific manufacturers are approved to sell in MA, and only specific models that they submit to the state for approval. The state is also very restrictive with magazine capacity and also made the AR-15 illegal to buy or sell (again) a few years ago. When I lived in MT it was as easy as you described, but it isn't in MA or some other states where the democrats have been able to enforce their gun control. Walther make nice pistols! Enjoy it!

I realize the laws are far different in many states. My state restricted 15+ mags in 2013 after all the mass shootings we've had the privilege to host.
But like I say...they sidestep all of that...and evidently...nobody is doing anything about it. They didn't even take the 3- 18 round mags apart that came in my case. I plan to order/stock up on a few more while I can. My wife's Glock 17 clone will hold far more rounds (40) if you buy the mags...which...we can. Are all of the surrounding states around you as restrictive on mags/etc.? Got friends? Heehee....

We're a Dem state...so don't believe things are as tight as you hear in our baby-eating bastions simply because they elected a Dem....cus they really aren't. AR's all over the wall here.....big ass mags available as "parts"... I wonder how many other states think they passed laws but the gun retailers are doin what they please in all reality?

Yup...really liking this Walther PDP SD Pro Compact 4.5". Super light pull/fast resetting trigger. Definitely a lot of fun to shoot. I'm hooked.

It’s more with the states that are fully run by the dems and those that don’t have much “country folk” on them that are really restrictive. I actually know a lot of democrats who own guns. NH doesn’t have the restrictions we do, and their govt is actually pretty left leaning, but our state is very strict. If I got caught with a magazine that holds more than 12 rounds then they could (and would) revoke my license and could take my guns away. For me, it’s not worth the risk, so I have 2 pre-ban 30 round magazines for my AR that have clear date stamps in them. Up until last year MA also had what is called “Chief’s Discretion” which gave the Chief of Police in your city/town the right to deny you a license to carry (which is needed to possess a pistol in MA) for any reason they see fit. Thankfully someone in NYC took the city to federal court over the same rule and it was deemed unconstitutional. There used to be cities in MA where nobody was permitted a license to carry because the chief decided nobody “needed” one.

We've only had one republican governor in about 20 years...but the East side and west side of the state are muy conservative. That's where Boebert (BoBo) The Clown is from. Ranchers and frackers. The mountain/ski towns are what pushes the more progressive/lib agendas along...like weed.

There are laws here about possessing 15+ mags...but hey...as long as they still SELL them (laws on that too)..."parts" or not....and the "AR's"...not my worry. I'm one of them "responsibul gun owners" now, man! I just do what I want...LOL. (dick swing)

Carry permits (only 25 states require a permit!!!) are issued by the County Sheriff here. Good for 5 years. Gotta be fingerprinted/photo'd/fucked with a bit to be able to play. As long as you aren't a Felon/meet the requirements...they basically have to give you a permit...LOL. Not sure if we'll trapse into that realm or not. It's already legal to carry....open...no permit required (car, biz, house, hotel room/etc)....and with a permit elsewhere...but it isn't at all legal to shoot people simply because you carry. (only in your house/Make My Day law) As my lawyer friend told me when I asked him about all of this/told him we wuz arming up...and ask him about CCW..."Every bullet has a lawyer attached to it". Just dunno if I wanna live life in that paranoid of a state of mind...especially with the legal ramifications in play. YMMV. To each their own. I'd buy a smaller gun/different holster if I was gonna carry. Love this Walther but it's a beast @ 8" long....LOL. Just bought the holster for trigger /gun protection.

Anybody have any laser training equipment? Seems to be like MH/HPS vs. LED in the gun world. some say YES...helps me big time....others say No...not a replacement for live shooting/etc. Funny how everything is the same...especially on the Net..... aka...EXPERTS EVERYWHERE. LOL. I'm just lucky that when I posted a pic of my gun it passed muster. Some guys have the 'wrong" light/etc...and then the >swing< comes out.... LOL. Oh my...

Sucks about yer laws. IMO...all we need to do....IMO....is to pass a nationwide law that ..if you kill someone/injure someone with your gun with intent.....you should be subjected to the same injury....or death....via your own gun. Murder with a gun should simply be an instant death penalty. I'm tired of life sentences and 100K a year taxpayer responsibilities for the clowns who kill who just shouldn't be here at all. Click, Boom. Done deal.

Nothing will change until we do....
