Are you going to hunt the Dogma males that you get to popup up H.A.F.(Stem Rub terps, frost, structure, ect) or you plan on going full blown bukkake on this chuck?
No sense pretending I can find the right male. That would take growing out kids from clones of the same mom hit at different times with different dads, then the seeds of each then grown out and smoked.

Hey @Bobby_Resigliano , when it comes to hand watering shifting to living soil has made that, uhm, not a chore? I can go crazy adding ferments and other stuff but if they need water and I just say screw it and give them plan ol' water they like that too. No pH-ing or EC contraptions needed, and you can do it on a regular schedule if that's your thing. With each 5g pot only getting about a quart every 2-3 days I had two tents withn 18 plants and watered the lot with less than 5g.

It also prompts you to take a closer peek at each plant regularly and maybe catch issues early.
Yes that was a large reason why I liked soil. Watering is only every few days unless your pot is too small. I think Id like to get a 5 gal smart pot to experiment with as well. My growmie gave me his personal recipe for his organic soil mix that I will try out in the smart pot. I watch my plants way more than normal people lol. My gf thinks its overboard but unless you know what they look like, its hard to see what's been changing. I think a three way test is in order.

I'll put on music or an audio book and just sit in there and chill as I water. I'll yank every plant out of the tent and water it then check them all out befire I stick them back in. To include a lift to make sure it feels 'watered'. I probably spend at least an hour watering the plants - or just looking. Sometimes it's an evening if there's a chore to do like up-potting or pruning. I don't like to rush stuff.

But if I just ain't into it, even on a night they need water I can spend 5-10 minutes per tent, hit them each with a watering can or a sprayer and call it good.

If I could go w/o tents I'd like to to do it that way. My cats love to eat my plants on site so taking them all out at once is always a stress trigger for me lol. I just watered a few mins ago and it takes me about 15 mins for both tents. I need to go in later when they stop dripping and suck out the tray of runoff. Before they were healthy I was running a good 30%+ out each watering. Tbo the coco and not having to check pots is nice too. Just watering everyday knowing its all good is comforting. More often than not I was having to remember which ones needed more/less water.

I haven't touched a leaf on these besides taking cuts. I'm almost a week into flip so another week or so and I'll trim up the bottoms. I usually try to save uppotting for the weekends so I can wake up early and have the entire day to formulate a plan.

I have been growing Christmas trees recently and just letting them go, but removing the main stem fan leaves has worked well. I'm not a purist. If they are in the way, they are gone. So far I keep a decent canopy, the secondary lombs seem to flush out and take up the slack. And the cat loves them ;)

Got the Puna Lites and MK Ultra bucked and jarred this morning. I got a few beans from each, and I think these are the last that were in the pollen-path of the Bad Attitude. The MK Ultra is frosty as hell, no special smell. All my plants get the same treatment. I got 18g from it .
In contrast the Puna Lites went the same length, same pot size, etc. etc. and I got 36g.

There was only 13g of the MKU worth curing, and I kept out about an 8th of the PL to try as well. The Puna Lites has a very similar smell to my Momma Moonshine. Gonna have to do some side by sides, but not chucking the Momma Moonshine seems moot now.

I use this for hand watering a cheap transfer pump with length of hose fiberglass rod for reaching into pots two D batteries runs pump
With some of the teas and such that I water with it wouldn't work, or if it did I would be worried about some kind of bad juju growing in the pump or tubing. I'm very low tech. The quart pitcher with the long spout is it. I found it's a lot less messy to have a dipper cup with a good pour spout, and a sturdy whisk to mix stuff up. Recharge day. Lost two John Lemon to being dudes. This one is still nothing.

I noticed it looks like the Savage Headband has back-up singers...

Still tossing ideas around as far as these catching pollen. With the end of November the tentative drop for the chuck beans they'll be huge.
So like with everything else I'll play it by ear. The 5 Irie regs hit three weeks tomorrow. I could take it in the harvest weight and flip them now but they are all gonna be good smoke if girls. I guess the timing of the chuck isn't imperative now that I'm not hanging onto plants specifically for it.

The tents are now pretty much by pot/cup size. Not a bad system if I can remember it 😜 The Chem91 is finally looking like a little plant! she got a little recharge with everything else last night, but now she gets to dry out and pray to beg for more.

Since I can't take post-harvest pics worth a damn I need to remember to shove it back in the tent for the final pic before I yell 'timber' next tome. Never seem to have an issue with the tetn lighting other than some glare at off white flowers at times.

This pump or one like it has pushed lots of teas etc. when I was doing soil and but you are correct unless you run clear water afterwards goodies will begin to grow in the tubing one should toss the original corigated tubing and use all smooth tubing I run bleach water through it every month or so and call it good it was a temp idea that I just keeps going $12 harbor freight pump last a couple years & totally saves my back which we all know is priceless.....

I have no hate for bagseeds. I grow a big variety so I am never sure what the pollen donor was but usually have a good idea - I'll keep some and shitcan the others.

If you buy weed and find a seed it was likely from a mono-crop. You have an S1. Not an intentional one but an S1. Might be more herm prone but if you see no nanners in the mom-bud then it might not be an issue.
everything round here has been, mostly all outie till about 2 years ago. most seeds never helped with genetics, being a cbd state( just happened lately) only is a real pain. the onterage effect is what i need! I find the better genetics really help. saveing money is tough @ the moment ,this to shall pass.

I just had a mini-epiphany. I can buy Dogma at the store for $5/bean if I want to get a few packs. And I may if the smoke is good. But there's no need to chuck it.

I smoked the last of my Thunderhole this morning and I have a pack of them, and no way to get more unless Dominion releases it. It was a charity thing for when he got out of the pokey - and that is likely the only drop ever. And it is known fire.

Sooooooo I'll smoke the Dogma before I decide on buying more or not. But I can always drop a few and include one girl in the chuck instead of it being the donor. But I'll also be looking through the bean-bank to see what else I have that might fall into that category.

Epiphany 2 - The Chem91 and Chem D should also be part of my focus to try and get something from both of them to seed.

I think that aiming for New Years as "the date" should work well. That can either be to drop the seeds, or to have them already dropped and tentatively dropping pollen OOA Jan 1. This would coincide with my already stated late Nov drop date, so that may have been a good call.

Hmmmm.... Just spit balling but do you have any "Reg" beans in the bank of your known "desert island" strains H.A.F.? If you do maybe give a think on which strains males on that list looked the best before you culled them on past grows. I think that would be a good place to start on coming up with a potential male(s).

Exactly. First thing I am doing is sorting my list by major categories like chem, citrus, berry etc. The Thunderhole is a definite open-pollination chucker that I want a lot of beans to hunt through. Replying to you - but don't get excited, this is a lot of notes for me too 😜

The mom is the Matanuska Thunderfuck cut from AKBeanBrains. Duke Diamond got the cut from him and did a big pollination with that in the mix as one of the females. The Dominion stud was the Airborne G13 x Skelly Skunk - otherwise known ad the ASS-man. Thunderfuck x ASSman = Thunderhole :ROFLMAO:. As a thank you he sent a fat sack of those beans back to AKBB to do whatever he wanted. . I can have some fun coming up for the names of any crosses I do besides the Thunderhole increase.

When Tommy decided to go ahead and do pokey time for the "oh, and he had a gun" federal charge he had time to back up everything while his lawyer was doing his job and then go kind of at his leisure instead of continuing to fight it. He still has all his stock, moms, dads, etc. It wasn't a raid where they came and snagged everything and trashed the place. Long story short, AKBB sent the sack of Thunderhole seeds and some of his Williams Wonder to seedsherenow to do a fundraiser. I bought a set.

Anyway - the first plant was a perfect mini-Christmas-tree and top-shelf super-fire. Gone too soon and will sorely missed . That's probably not the dominant pheno so the more I can pop the merrier. Chances of me finding another in the last 10 beans is either very slim, or every plant will be like it - win/win if I have a bunch of beans. And I don't think there are any more. I have other Dominion stuff but it's all stuff I believe he still has around. I don't have any of his rarer stuff - except this one-off.

The other criteria for my is probably going to be a stud male. Not mine - theirs. I ain't doing all that fucking work. If the breeder maintains a stable of studs instead of just the latest cuts that means something. Like if I likes something from one plant there's a good chance of finding it again, or at least having stable beans with less chance of herms. A breeder that names his males? Come on man, you gotta start there LOL

Rasta Jeff at Irie has the "King Solomon" Arise male (fathered so many lines LOL). So far both plants I have grown from that dad have been fire, and both very different so I assume each was more like the mom. He has tested beans. I don't know about @J.James naming any dudes but I know he kept stud males around as well and I have a few of his that will make the list.

I have until end of November to decide the pack I'll be making more of but the Thunderhole checks all the boxes I can think of so far. But the fun is going to be figuring out the also-ran's that get to be catchers too. Most of the packs I have I plan to hunt all at once, clone the girls, then see if there's a keeper mom - of my choosing - and keep it around for a while. I want to do that a lot. After this winter the veggies stay the fuck outside LOL.

Then at some point I my pull that special pack out and do my second chuck and have a load of selected stuff to be in the tent with them. I may find another pack I forgot about that checks lots of boxes but is older - that might tips the scales as long as it wasn't just something I wanted to mom-hunt.
