@larf I wanted to know if you can still cannabis into moonshine and will the moonshine contain the thc from the cannabis
I have decarbed bud on hand at all times, and some I wash with everclear to get the goodies out.
Distilling with the weed would get you terps and flavor maybe, but not much on the effect. Adding some decarbed stuff to the thumper for a second run would probably be good, but you're still re-heating it and losing a little.

if you use everclear on regular weed it won't do much. The decarb process is what does it. But after you wash the decarbed stuff you can use it as is, or reduce it to any thickness of tincture you want. I like to make it really strong then just add bit in a shot of OJ or grapefruit juice.

I would assume that all of the heat would degrade the thc. I've never made it myself, so I'm not really sure about the mash side beyond a basic recipe. I don't even drink. The last jar that was given to me I used to winterized a botched run of shatter. It didn't work because there was too much BHO, so I sat on it for a year and ended up boiling it into iso-gunk.

But yeah you can decarb the weed and extract the thc with it when it's finished. Or add decarb some shatter. I don't really see the point of mixing moonshine and edible thc though. That sounds like a potential disaster.

The 4” cubes were too wet when I transplanted them, but I couldn’t keep up with watering the root riot plugs, so whatever. They’re moving slow and look a little sad, but they’ll be fine.

Cleaning sucked as much as it always has. I’m done though. Now I can relax for a few days.

I stayed up super late learning all about moonshining. One thing I learned is you don't need a thumper if you're able to control the heat. They were originally used to regulate the still, which was heated by a wood fire pit. Also adding fruit beforehand is a waste of fruit. It's funny though because most of the components are the same for a BHO setup, so it's all pretty familiar.

One nice thing about moonshine is the market isn't going to crash in the foreseeable future. It has already been through all of that. Any amount of money I put into it I'll get back out. I could probably even resell the still for what I spent on it.

This lead me to watching tutorials on other types of liquor. Since I don't drink, it's just chemistry to me. It's all so interesting. How was any of it figured out originally? That's what always blows me away. Humans are often clever and/or lucky.

This is my emergency still for purifying water. The manual said it could also be used to extract essential oils or make moonshine.IMG_20220301_114854067.jpg

They’ve awakened from their soggy slumber. I forgot that I can suck out excess water with a shop vac. That was an old trick. I also turned on more lights to get some warmth going. Explosive growth and 16 fat bananas or whatever coming soon.

Next I’m taking 8 clones from this Money Gun #3 pheno to fill up the second 4x4 plot. I took this little piece to sample last night, and it has a very heavy high with a unique soured OG Kush profile. It was the loudest plant of the grow and stinking up my yard. The smoke coats thick.

Oh yeah, and I made the music to that video. It sounds horrible on my phone though. I didn't mix it down, I just made something real quick to add. But it made me realize that I can funnel all of my artistic creativity through my plants. I'm decent with Ableton, Photoshop and After Effects. Now I have a reason to combine them all. I also have a GoPro 360 degree camera that I plan on using.

Roots were peaking through the bottoms of a few of the rockwool cubes when I checked today, so I’ll be perching them on their slabs soon.

Im starting to notice the lack the of stress from dealing with 24+ flowering / 24+ vegging plants plus 30 mother bonsais. Right now I only have to water 50 tiny plants in 4” rockwool cubes. That’s nothing.

In other news, I took my dog on a 5 mile hike today. We have been lazy and chronically iced in this winter, so I’m feeling those 5 miles tonight. Now I’m smoking on this jar of Slushers.

Those 5 miles kicked my legs' asses. My dog is being a little angel this morning though.

I like having a journal because I can talk about anything I want while posting random pictures of my plants, dog and whatever else, and not feel like a hijacking dickhead. I should have done this years ago.

Good morning larf, thanks for sharing. I never have much to share. I am so lazy I sleep for nine hours a day or more. When I do wake up I lay in bed and check norml.org, hightimes.com, and marijuanamoment.net to see what's happening with marijuana reform. If a new federal or state priority/bill is up on norml I write a letter to congress. When I am done with those things I hit up chucker paradise to stay in the loop and see what everyone is smoking on. Oh I forgot to mention I also check seedfinder.eu daily for new breeders, new stains, new seedbanks, and new photos photos.
