Got the frame mostly assembled today. I would have gotten more done but had to do house cleaning for part of the day since we are hosting my brothers birthday party next weekend.

I just need to drill and install the two rails in the middle that will support the driver and drill the holes to mount the driver.

Then I’ll apply the strips and wire it. I should be able to get that done tomorrow.

Looking good!
I just mounted up another DIY build, 8 x Sunboard strips, and 2 x 660 red strips with a 350-48 volt Meanwell Driver. Plus 4- Veros on 240-1400mA driver all components mounted on 2 x 6.08" x 36" heatsinks. Prolly will add 2 more sunboard strips on a 2" x 36" heatsink for the center.
I've got a 600 watt-48 volt driver to build another light with. I'm glad I bought all the components before the "Rona" hit. (except for the Growdaddy strips). Pricings are going up and up. I've got close to 30 COB's I'm not using at the moment.

So I switched out the HPS with the LED, and it doesn’t seem that bright. 😞

I’m not sure what is happening, but I suspect it has something to do with the dial on the bottom of the driver. When I turn the dimmer all the way up, near the end, the light dims rather than getting brighter. It seems like the brightest it will go is about 3/4 or 7/8 of the dial on the dimmer pot.

Also, and take this with a grain of salt because I’m using a free light meter app on my phone, but the highest lux reading I could get was about 350. I tried the same app under the HPS yesterday and I was getting readings in the 33,000 range. So huge discrepancy there. I guess I gotta read up on lux, par and umols etc.

If anyone has any pointers, I’m all ears.

I do like the “color” of the light it provides.

OK will do. Is it just as easy as that or do I have to connect together the two wires for the dimmer?
You want to remove the potentiometer wires. If you shirt the wires the light will turn off. Then plug the light into a watt meter and adjust the pot on the driver until you get the max watts you want. If the potentiometer is bad, and you don’t want to wait for him to send you a replacement, then these are what I use from Amazon. They are nicely made and they are inexpensive.
