Being a total rookie at indoor and seeing your results and others sort of encouraged me to have a go at Soil so I’ve basically taken my outdoor mix and applied it indoors with a few adjustments made . We don’t have your Pro Mix or Fox farms etc but obviously we do have high grade potting mix that I mix with my own home made compost made up of broken down horse manure , broken down tape weed I source from the beach high tide mark and rinsed in fresh water and veg/ Fruit scraps, Garden leaves . Dunno enough about LEDs yet to build my own confidently so I entered with a couple SP250s . Kept it simple like me 🤪
What has messed with me so far though is how the different strains grown in exactly the same soil respond . Some are doing really well relative to a first grow and some are doing weird assed shit . It’s a steep learning curve particularly when you search a deficiency and you get half a dozen “ it could be this or it could be that “

Mate simple is my template to life 😆. I’m always up for advice to smooth out the ripples. I work away from home half the year basically 2 weeks home the 2 weeks away so the wife holds the fortress while I’m away . Even more reason to keep things easy and minimise issues . She doesn’t have the time or patience to negotiate hurdles if they arise so basically she will water when required then it’s up to them .

PICK YOUR OWN
Coco with some coco chips added, fabric pots, LEDs, GH nutes. I’m more focussed on things outside the tent right now. Got an AC unit for my birthday, got the dehuey running on constant dumping into a drain, trying to make watering easier next. Need to get a tap line somehow but my taps have no screw on potential :/

I don’t think I’ll ever go away from soil, I just like the slower pace that comes with it. I’ve also come to prefer dry amendments and teas over bottled nutrients. The one game changer for me, though, was when I added a blumat watering system. I only have it in my main tent, I currently have 4 clones in 7 gallon pots in my smaller tent, and I’m already questioning myself about when they actually need water.
How do you like the blumat? I'm fairly new,but have looked at their setups a few times and talked myself out of it.

I love it. I got it and installed it the day before I flipped my last run into flower and never had to worry about watering them again. I just topped off the 5 gal bucket reservoir daily but you can also plumb them right into a water supply.

Nice! How many plants do you have set up with it? Any pics? I honestly might order one tonight 😆

Four plants in 10 gallon pots. The two most recent diaries in the link below (Banana Orange Daiquiri & Topanga Wedding) are the grow I used them with. They’ll be put in use again, soon, for my current grow. I’m just waiting until I transplant them again in about a week. I use one “carrot” and four drippers per pot.
