Love how different everyone's setups are . Over the years I've kinda morphed into what I'm doing now and I'm happy . Happy to have found my preferences in every way . Lighting is still on the fence as I have about three dif options for my main tent. So far I've drifted into ammending in promix. Still messing around w certain things but whatever seems to work best for an individual is what I'm interested in. So what works for you guys!??? Ie , medium, lighting , nutes etc.

I don’t think I’ll ever go away from soil, I just like the slower pace that comes with it. I’ve also come to prefer dry amendments and teas over bottled nutrients. The one game changer for me, though, was when I added a blumat watering system. I only have it in my main tent, I currently have 4 clones in 7 gallon pots in my smaller tent, and I’m already questioning myself about when they actually need water.

Love to hear your actual regimen, I am doing a similar regimen

What I did for my last grow was so simple. I amend my soil with this.

Then, during veg I brew a tea with 1TBSP of it and 6mL of blackstrap molasses per gallon of water and let it brew for 24-36 hrs and I feed that full strength once a week. I also give a light top dressing of the same fertilizer once every 2-3 weeks.

When I flip to flower I do the same as above, but also add in this flower fertilizer for the first 2 weeks, and then use only it from then on.

I could probably make the same fertilizer for a lot less money if I made it myself so that will probably be the next thing I look into.

I love it man! I have a similar thing going. Just started trying a bloom booster at week 6. Just a little extra k towards the end .

How fast is that stuff breakdown? I noticed that's the big difference with a lot of these amendments how fine it is and how quick It can get to the roots

I can still see some remnants of it in the top inch of soil after a week or two, but I’m sure it still takes a little while to actually be broken down enough for it to be available to the plants. That’s why I decided to feed tea once a week rather than top dress once a week. There was no science to that decision, though, but my last grow went really well. My leaves all looked healthy and didn’t start to fade until about 2 weeks before harvest.

Yeah every dam product is dif. Been using flower girl as my main bloom food and depending on pot size ,I get about 3 to 4 weeks out of a topdress. Just got some really fast stuff and I'm trying to give a little at week 6 ish .

Preferences....every new idea on the planet...always tweaking it to find the one system that will rule them all MU HA HA HA

I am using soil now but i love coco coir. There is a diminishing returns thing in coco and if you stick to a 3 gallon or less pot it can do GREAT things. I think floraflex will fix me right up because the concept fixes the coco coir problem of salt buildup.

I like the idea of soil and im using it in some places now but coco outperforms soil. For size and growth speed there is no comparison except a full on water system that has its own problems.

After watching Heisen fill trays up with 1 gallon pots with floraflex i know it works. So the first set are 1 gallon pots and then im getting rings for bigger pots and running a bunch of 3 gallon coco pots.

Flood and drains are awesome except for the height problem i have and i need every inch of clearance i can get.

Lighting...COBS for the win. I would trade all of my boards for citi 1212 or 1218 or vero cobs no problem. I love how they work and they go a bit further than boards. But it is really about plant management....make the plant work for your lights and you have big yields.

For nutes...man i want some reasonably priced nutes.

Megacrop...i grew with it...big fat buds that had too much N

AN trio...loved it but the price point is stupid

Dynagrow...i might come back to it now that i can get a gallon for 80. IF i do floraflex in soil in running DG at 800 forever!

MasterBlend...using this currently...cheap but im in the learning curve.

those are my preferences as of today...could be different tomorrow.

Medium/Nutes - My own soil mixes. Pretty much always stick to the same recipe more or less. Dry amendments. Though this is my first time with pro-mix in the mix, and I'm a convert. Love the stuff. I add some organic liquid kelp/seaweed nutes at 1/2 strength every other watering. CalMag every time. As things progress they'll get some MegaCrop. I tend to push hard in flower with the nutes. Most plants love it and say, "Gimme more bitch! I can take it!"

SIP System - This started for me as a convenience thing. The idea was I could add enough water to last a week or two. Now I'm just convinced these plants love to drink at their own pace be it in a SIP or hydro. So it's stuck with me, and I can confidently say that the few grows I've done without using the SIP were not as good as those using it.

Lights - LED. My favorite piece of equipment (well, second favorite, I am a man and can't help myself sometimes😜) They're just cool af, you can DIY build one. Never seen a DIY HPS build thread lol.

Dope 👍. Kind of surprised there are more guys amending than I thought. I feel like I've tried everything and I always end up coming back to it. Even though I started hydro

I'm always in awe of the hydro setups around here. I would totally try it out if I could, but I gotta be stealthy, and can't spend that much time futzing with everything. And then there's those noisy ass air pumps lol
It's alot but the reward to some Is worth it . Like if I had to do this for a living I would definitely be running shit hydro. The root growth is just ridiculous. And for that matter so is everything else potentially

The problems with coco are. Salt buildup....calmag problems....dry out in less than a day

the problem with hydro is LEAKING....pythium....keeping it all working. (i run bubblers and flood and drains)

The problem with soil is....its slow.er..thats about it

A 5 gallon pot costs 10 bucks to fill in coco...15 for top shelf organic soil....a 6 inch rockwool cube is about 5 bucks? or a few pebbles of hydroton.

I used to be cost driven but now i am shifting to ease of use. Then focus on plant training more than feeding and slugging stuff around.

I'm at half promix and half Coco right now with a little bit of perlite and I'm loving it honestly

I know when you get the right cultivar in a coco pot you curse them. I have a monster purple dream in an 11 litre pot (2.3 US gallons). It is dry EVERY morning and i water it every day. Fall over dry.

How big would that be with constant feed? BIGGER!!!

drip emitters or systems like floraflex are the best because of the top feed.

but floraflex will win

Ever since I added half promix I've noticed a big difference in how often I have to water .
