MC patties lol, I was just thinking the other day how much pH down I go through with MC. I don't think I like that too much. Seems like a lot of acid into the same solution ya know?

Did another rez change for veg and the ph continues to climb. My water out of the tap is 5.6 ph after mixing in the mega it stays around 5.6 but it wont stay for long. My auto ph dossier has been using a crap load of ph down. Decided to unplug the pump and see what happens.

Over 3 days it climbs up and defiencies show up.
And plants look like shit.

Did not wait around to see how high it would climb so i dumped the rez and filled it up again. Of course the sludge was all in it. View attachment 44992View attachment 44993View attachment 44995View attachment 44996View attachment 44990View attachment 44991View attachment 44998View attachment 44999
Jesus, that’s disgusting! So happy I got jacks. Gonna start using it next grow and finish some of my other bottle stuff.✌🏻

It sure explains why i had all the troubles with the flood and drain...with AN the problems vanished.

I will probably go to GH trio...pretty hard to beat and it is reliable. Good price point and i cant find Jacks here.

MC still works good in a coco pot (hand pour)...but for any systems it just causes problems for me.

Hey @gwheels , check the jacks hydroponics website. It says oh snap if you are in Canada but if you contact them they will help you out. They have an excellent customer service. Just sharing but gh3 works too. ✌🏻

So i come back after a few hrs without having my ph dosier on and the ph was 6.7. So i dumped it again and am finished trying to use mega.
I don’t know if it matters to you but the mc says on the bag not for edible crops and the jacks doesn’t. Just putting that out there as well. Makes me kind of leery.

for their product is it a kit you buy with all 3 ?
They have lots you can buy now and a bunch of new products I have no clue about. @Greenthumbskunk got the kind for ro water and I think it’s a one part. They have bloom booster formulas, seedling and clones, all purpose etc. Definitely do some research. I’m doing the original jacks hydroponics with cal nitrate and epsom for the 3-2-1 formula. Sorry I don’t have more for you✌🏻

My god. I don’t blame you, I would be done with it too if I had to deal with all that. I did get pretty frustrated that the GLN rep stopped replying to me when I asked why they were sending out new formulations in the old formulation’s packaging. I’ll keep using it, because for whatever reason, I have never had any of the problems others do with MC. I assumed at first it was because i was using v3, but it seems others have had problems with the v3 as well , so who knows. i havent had any issues at all with clumping up and very minimal PH adjustments. At my current dosage, It comes to about 5.7 after mixing, I ph up to 6.1, and then in the time it takes me to go through a 20 gal Rez, it usually climbs to 6.3/6.4 by the last feed, just put a few drops of PH down and I’m golden. I’m wary about ordering it again tho after I run through this 22lb bag i have on deck, because I’m starting to fear I might have just gotten lucky and got a good bag.

One thing is for sure though, I dont see myself going back to bottles. I have been wanting to try nectar of the gods for at least one grow, but I may skip that and just get into building my own soils after I run through this MC. I’ve got a buddy who is a wizard with soil, he custom builds each mix for the strains he’s running in it, and his flower is some of the best ive ever smoked. In the meantime, If i do start having issues with MC at any point, someone has an RO formula dry food, I think it was jacks, that does intrigue me.

I did use some last year in the greenhouse and worked fine. It may be just better for different water than i got.

Im using jacks reverse osmosis formula in veg and its the shiz nit. Using masterblend in flower and both mix so well effortlessly and stable PH.

Are you not using RO with MC?

My well water is between 26-30 ppm and i always have to add calmag even to MC.

Noticed besides the PH creeping up continously with the mega but also the ppm rarely ever decreasing.
With the new Jacks im using the plants are eating so much that the ppm is lowering along with the water levels. Plants growth is considerably more robust.

Been using MC calmag and say its one of the worst calmags ive used due to it not wanting to dissolve.
Almost done with it all and ill be back to mixing my own again.

Ill be using the mega out in the greenhouse from now on to use the rest of it up.

Yeah, i don’t reckon I will ever try the calmag from GLN. Way too high N content for the way I use it. I would either have to deal with abnormally high nitrogen levels, since MC is high to begin with, or lower the MC to offset the extra N, but then that is screwing with the ratio of other nutrients/elements in the mix, I can just imagine that I would be chasing issues around so I never bothered with it. Or at the very least, it would make the already incredible amount of defoliation I have to do on MC plants, even more time consuming. I too use a calmag product with MC, but I use calimagic. my RO water comes out to 3-5ppm, and i add calimagic to get it up to 140ppm before adding MC.

I get mine up to 120-150 range. Used to bring it to 200ppm when i had some chem 4

I got several hundred pounds of some ultrasol.

Opened a 5 gal bucket up i took an empty bag out. I bought several dozen buckets with rubber seal lids and emptied the 25 lb bags into them until full and put an empty bag on top and closed the lid down. So i know whats exactly in those buckets. Also have a bunch of 20/20/20 and calcium nitrate from them as well.

If I would have known this before ordering BE, I probably would too. I just hate that I’ve got 1kg of BE that I suspect I won’t end up using if I like the SC. I’m wondering if there is any reason that mixing the BE & SC wouldn’t be ideal, when I asked the GLN rep about this, they said I should pick one or the other.

I run in coco/perlite, so not a whole lot of colonization in the media itself, but my roots are covered in microbial life and my 3 gal radicle bags are rooted out, so still plenty of microbes to feed.
Is one a "nitrate" and the other a "sulphate"? They say not to mix nitrates and sulphates together but can use separately.
I might be wrong on this. Need to go back to class. lol

Recharge is my shit, i use it in everything I grow, regardless of nutrients or medium. I even use it in when germinating so it can start inoculation as soon as there are roots to colonize. If you sign up for the Dude Grows Club ($10/month) through patreon , you get a 30’percent off recharge coupon, among with many other benefits, including a free pack of regs from Obsoul33t, through seedsheenerenow and coupon codes for a variety of sites, including seedsherenow, HLG, or Garden Gear Supply. Even if you just use the coupon code on the smallest size of recharge, it almost pays for the month right there. If you buy any size 1lb or bigger, you’ll save more money than you spent on the month of DGC.
I quit using Recharge and Mammoth P. I can't tell the difference.
Last Recharge I bought smelled like fucking pure "coffee grounds". lol
