Random diy bits and pieces. Chuck it all up

G'day folks, so I'm just throwing it out there. I'm keen to see what diy solutions and contraptions you all have came up with. From tiny to massive.

Whatever has fixed any problems you had in the grow. Let's hear the problem then the solution.. us stoners are creative bastards when we need to be.

My issue is, I'm in the red zone here.. growing is let's just say, frowned upon..
So for me everything needs to be as discreet as possible

Particularly interested to see what you've done to reduce or even better, eliminate the noise of the grow? Cheap 8 inch fans are noisy bastards.. ballasts aren't always the quietest..

I've got got acoustic insulated ducting which helps fan noise more than the cheap shit but still much louder than I'd like..
I'm thinking insulated box to contain the fans maybe? anyone done this?

What other things have you rigged up. Pretty doesn't matter as long as it works.

Oh also, how the fuck do ya disguise a 6ftx6ft tent in ya bloody shed for rent inspections every few months..

About all you can do for the tent is disguise it as a coat or clothing closet and make sure they can see clothing in boxes around it and maybe hang clothes on a wire right in front of it.
Just a thought. Man, that's a tough thing to conceal. But it can be done.

Haha I was just thinking of this type of thread yesterday. Cool that you put one up. Let's see what people come up with 😃

On the loud fan I feel ya on that, check out @captC setup, I think he posted it in my thread. Also the AC Infinity fans are much quieter but not as strong. Still pulls through a carbon filter fine though. About double the price of a regular fan.

Here's what I was messing with yesterday, probably a better way but it's what I had on hand and only took a few minutes.
Was drilling holes in a tote lid for clone collars. The hole was a bit smaller than the collar so they could fit snug. There was jagged material left behind so to smooth them out I wrapped some sandpaper around the hole saw and ran the drill through the holes.

Next time, you might try putting a drill bit friendly material like wood under your tote lid. Shouldn't fray as much. Maybe you did have something under it, but if you didn't a solid surface will help. As long as your foam or net cups fit in the hole, you're good. lol
I’ve heard that if you run the drill in reverse, you’ll get a cleaner cut when hole sawing through plastic.

I just drilled them with the lid on the tote. I will try that though thanks. Thinking of trying this on the next RDWC buckets. I used a blade to try and smooth out the holes, but wonder if this might work too.
You can even put masking tape over the drill hole area being drilled out and it should cut down on the fraying too. Find you something the same size, like the inside cardboard of a paper towel roll and glue your sandpaper to that and keep it around for the next time. You could always "whittle" you down a tree limb to a tapered cone shaped and well, there you go. lmao!

Damn mate that would be funny.. I have enough clothes to fit in one bag lol..
Last time I just pulled it half down and hung a heap of canvas awning from my camper trailer and had it swags hanging.. organised chaos lol

Cheers mate, I'll have a look.. I was thinking sound insulated box for the fans. Seen some for air compressors and the like, maybe adapt something like that.

Not sure HOW BIG yer shed is Mr. McCunt....but if you can do it.....get a bunch of cardboard boxes. Keep em flat til the day before inspection.....then tape em up and stack the shed incredibly full so that when you open the door...it's >solid boxes< floor to ceiling. (if possible) Get a magic marker or two and write "Kitchen Utensils" on one box.... "Jimmy's bedroom" on another..."Xmas decorations" etc..etc.,.etc. PACK IT AS FULL AS YOU CAN and then tell the inspector you are temporarily storing some stuff for a friend who is in between rentals/buying a house/yaddayadaayadda.

That..or just tell them to fuck off...LOL. Good luck!

You want a real good "Willow tree" branch for a fishin' pole. Plenty of flex. I know, we had a Willow Tree in the front yard. They make dandy switches. Like a bull whip and cracks like thunder when mom got us in her reach. LMAO!

And, as goofy as it sounds, run the drill slowly in reverse. It'll breeze through the plastic and leave a smooth edge to boot.

I dig the ingenuity. It looks a little like my seed scrubber. I took a plastic vial intended for my tissue culture experiments and lined the inside with grit paper so I can shake seeds and give them a light scuff before germination attempts.

That's actually a bloody good idea fellas. worth a crack for sure. It's got to be a viable excuse.. well after I get the noise from the fans sorted lol.. boxes that sound like small jets might be difficult to explain 🤣
That said, the old "fuck off" is a proven viable option..

Haha sorry mate, guess I talk funny with my slang.. get used to it. Now I'm going walkabout out beyond the black stump to look for some grub and a drink. I'm dry as a dead dingoes donger 🤣😂
Old uncy Rom will have no idea what I'm saying, but he'll be comfy lol

Thanks :D repurposing, making things work outside of the original intended purpose is fun. Good idea on the seed scuffer. I used a tiny mint box and did something similar :)We need a life hack thread lol. Or could this be considered one?
Consider it whatever is best.. we can get admin to change the title if it goes that way..
Just a good thread for all diy, hacks and all that type of good stuff

That's strange, but I understood every word you said. You ever heard of Jerry Springer Show? They would like you. Lmao!
If you don't know the show, I'm just pokin' at ya accent slang. lol
