You think you've got old seeds?

Lol, I read that article earlier today.
Pretty interesting.
I was thinking of the + & - applications

+ salvaging old genetic material

- agricultural firms intentionally deforming/dehydrating seeds to make growers need to buy the "special enzymes" to germinate. (Another reason to buy more seeds now+!?)
That land of milk and honey is becoming the land of bioscientists and cannabis

EDIT:
This could be like a agricultural StarGate. Some PM from the past comes back to attack home grows:eek:

Found this info on Ed Rosenthal's site...

Boil distilled water...til sterile.
Place old seed stock in fresh sterile distilled water for 48 hrs.
Mix 3/4 gal. of sterile distilled water, 2ml of organic agave, 2ml calmag, 1ml of nutrients.
PH to 6.0 & Soak the seed stock for 48 hrs.
When done rinse seeds is 3%h2o2 solution for 15 seconds & place in coco coir air sealed container.

***i think you can flip this a few different ways...
***update: i got 1 of 8 to pop. I have introduce a heat map to test the other 7.
Ill time these & test this method to see which one is faster..

Because I dont have anything better to do beside research germination techniques.
Yaaah! :geek::poop:

I havent got any of my old seeds pass the shell.

The 1 of 8...its root tail was pure mush.
I have soaked 10 others after....nothing after 3 days.

I have 4 in paper towel...now
Its been 70 hour...
The shells split...except 1.
Now they are just sitting on the heat mat.
Im trying not to drown them or let them dry out.

Smh...

The hull is probably too tough for the seedling to pry open. Maybe take the advice of some of these other guys and use sandpaper on them, to thin them a little.

Its just a let down...
I stock pile those beans thinking I had whenever to pop them...

Now its like Wake Up!!!
You thought you had 'secured' these 'golden' genetics...

Surfuckinprise!!!

I have began to question my own skills...like "dude, you grew for 10 years now you cant pop a fucking seed!?"

Im giving these 4 seeds another 4 days...then I will buy a FRESH New pack of seeds. IF I cant germ those...

I quit.

What sand paper grade?
Really fine. I think you just line the inside of a small bottle/jar or something similar then add seeds a shake/roll maybe. Somebody that’s done it can tell you exactly how, I’ve only heard. Or if you’re really careful you can hold them between your fingers I guess.

Out of my 5+year old seeds (100 seeds) , all were in fridge and never moved or even moved to a second fridge.

Doing it the normal way 50%(paper towel Method than coco) than 5o% ( sit in water and then coco) I applied alfalfa tea at 1/4 rate to both . I noiticed when I do normal plants or clones I can get a great vigorous since pgr and man def helps.

Results = only 7 came up and your talking some really nice stuff too. Man I wish I did some more extensive things vs the simple cause it’s obvious by % since when I do more fresh I get 90%+ germs .

After result I wanted to see if any guides.
