Would a fish tank water pump be good enough for a RDWC build?

Would probably work but you'd have to wait awhile after topping the system off with fresh nutes. That way everything can get mixed good and you can get an accurate ppm and ph reading. The larger the pump the faster new water mixes with the old and you can then check ppm and ph sooner. Adjusting ph might get old with a smaller pump.... sitting around waiting for it to mix. Also depends on how many gallons your rdwc system is going to hold. I think i have about a 300gpm pump on a 30 gallon system. I'm not sure I'd go with a much smaller pump.

Hi, folks. Was wondering about this water pump someone gave me. I wanna construct an RDWC system. This pump is free... so will it make a huge difference if it doesn't connect directly to a hose/pipe? It's 90 GPH if I remember correctly. Wanting to get started somewhat quickly, any responses would be great. TIA. View attachment 119266View attachment 119264
If it pushes air through a stone you're good.
