Brought 10 clones outside last Thurs to start hardening off and then left town for the holidays. Forgot to check the weather before leaving... FML

What does “hardening off” mean, and how is it supposed to work, if you will. Oh, I’m truly sorry for your misfortune.
"hardening off" is gradually acclimating your plants to a new grow environment, not so much of a big deal for warm climates, but in colder climates where you start seedlings indoors in the spring before moving them outside you want to bring them outside for a few hours to get used to the cooler temps, different amount of light, strong winds, etc. etc.

Thank you so much. Excellent explanation.
