should have mentioned that I am using an S I P covered with black plastic. Everything on top seems fine and dandy just wondering about the life in the soil

Did you buy or make the growkashi?
What are you seeing that makes you concerned?
Are you adding anything to the res?
For me the best way I can tell if things have gone sideways is the smell.
If it looks like larvae consider getting nematodes or bt.

Malibu yes. No foul smell. Could not really see critters, just ground movement when disturbed

I saw you had another thread going regarding this. It will help to not have duplicative threads going. You have received good advice in the other thread. Before you do anything identification is key, lacking that any diagnoses are hypothetical. Making such efforts is fruitless.
Sticky traps may help you capture them, then your local nursery or garden center should be a ble to help identify, f the hydro store.
