Trial and error my friend, unless you've got a par meter and a spectrometer, it's really just an educated guess.
I'd start at 18" and go 2 inches closer each day til they start getting unhappy about your antics. 😉

Shit they are @ 10" and loving it!!
These lights are ridiculously cool @ 65w of 75w max.
The driver on the other hand is pretty warm.
I left the flood on for 8 hours yesterday oops. They loved it I think

Those meanwell drivers have a normal safe operating temp of up to 165* F when ran hard all out. It's totally fine to feel hot to the touch on them.
They're max rated temps are 90* C or 194* F.
So if you can touch it and not get a burn it's fine like that. Lol
