over driving A series drivers

So all these numbers are theoretical. Assuming your using a A series hlg 240 cc driver you can push these almost up to 300 watts. Even if your strips boards etc can handle this amount of current my question is does the voltage typically run past max. Say your boards are rated 48v and your driver is listed 48 volts at 240 watts. When you exceed the limit does this push extra voltage through or does it all balance out. This could all be irrelevant and nonsense I'm still getting my feet wet with all the math. Never jumped in to deep cause it was all simple plug and play for the most part. AB driver had me scratching my head for a moment though.
