Do you keep a nearly broken top?

So I’m in week 5 of flower and one of my tops was so heavy it snapped and it was leaning over when I came to check. I already propped it back up in a panic and it’s hard to even tell now
How do you guys handle something like that?

Depends on what it is. Definitely salvageable.
Bandage tape at a minimum to hold it together, but grafting wax or something to keeo air out wouuld help, or hitting it with some aloe or something in the wound.

Damn none of that on hand and stores are mostly closed... lol once I heard a guy use honey on a wound

Vader tape works great for me to fix splits until they heal.

Got any pipe cleaners handy? If so a nice and snug figure 8 would hold your wound close

Zip ties, panters tape, duct tape, etc. it's a stem. If you can get it closed up tight it won't matter much about the other stuff.

Grafting wax is like pine-tar. It's cheap and I have a tin I bought years ago still mostly full. Like that pack of bandaids you hope you don't need

After the first drastic loss from that stuff I got a "first aid kit" together to keep within reach of the tents just in case.

All these guys have it covered just figured I'd show what happens if you do nothing. Somehow these split and i didn't notice till about a week ago. Can't even force them together now. They didn't seem to skip a beat. Grew just as tall as the others around them.

My first limb that was broken from weight went unnoticed until that limb started ripening before the rest of the plant. Brown pistils a few weeks before the rest and trying to get done and do it's job before death.

Things that structurally mend breaks is teflon tape or grafting tape. Also want to bump up calcium and silicone.

I use that regularly if I top a plant and it is already hollow there. I just make a little cap for it.
