Has anyone here ever used humic acid in hydro?

You can use it with benes but don't do it if your running sterile. It also usually contains allot of sediment that will plug up your air stones. The color will also stain your roots so then you think you've got root rot when you don't. Least that was my experience.

Does anyone know of a source for (affordable) monosilicic acid, or how to silicify potassium silicate?

I forgot to add in that I tried Growsilic by Grotek. 1/4 the cost of the other guys. I wanted to foliar with Power Si but I can't get it here in Canada. Found this growsilic stuff on amazon but the only thing it seemed to do was raise my pH. Didn't see any benefit versus using no Si...

Does anyone know of a source for (affordable) monosilicic acid, or how to silicify potassium silicate?

Another issue with Pot sil is potential for lockout from an overabundance of potassium in flower... especially if your heavy on the bloom boosters. Dont ask me how i know. You also can't run Power Si in any recirculating setup just so ya know. Coco and soilless is fine, but for recirc systems...

Heisenbubbles Do it yourself RDWC build

Oh man thats no bueno. I had a similar issue with my bulkheads but it was the shippers fault. Sent me half slip and half thread and figured it wouldnt matter. Imo cutting the bulkheads doesn't really matter for 2 reasons.... First off, the flow of water is being diffused by the air stones in...

Heisenbubbles Do it yourself RDWC build

I run 650w led 8 bar panels and they were as high as they could go. There was 2" between the roof and panels as the ballast for each are mounted on top. They grew so big I had colas pressed up against the strips and the roof. That's why I scrapped the tents. I had some runts between both...

This will put it into perspective for you... Hence the bigger buckets and pipes.

Heisenbubbles Do it yourself RDWC build

If you don't root prune before you flip you'll end up with insane long roots that grow into your connecting pipes. The higher the GPH pump you have, the more they will travel into the pipes. Once the pipes start to fill with roots you will get unbalanced water levels in your buckets. The...

Heisenbubbles Do it yourself RDWC build

If I rebuilt my systems again I'd definitely use bigger buckets and connecting pipes. I'd drop the 4 gal and go with square 8 gallon and 3" bulkheads and pipes versus 2". If your growing smaller plants like 3'-4' then the 4 gallons buckets are okay. The problem with the 4 gallons is that...

Heisenbubbles Do it yourself RDWC build

I wrapped all of my lines with the thin foil insulation wrap to block out light as best I could. Along with all the buckets and lids. Once you get a canopy growing there is even less direct lighting. I wouldn't get too caught up worrying about the flow of water. Even if one side gets 10%...

This seems like a good place to start

Welcome :) Shitty dicks about the RA's. I fought the RA's....but the RA's won. Your right on shutting down for a month... that's the only way to end them honestly. You can go nuclear but your still pissin in the wind imo. Anywho, I'm rambling as usual so welcome to paradise dude.

    Gummy Recipe....the final (i think)

Has anyone tried this? I just heard about this from a buddy the other day and am going to try it. My sister makes some decent ones but hers need to be refrigerated otherwise they lose their consistency. Looking for the easiest way to make some edibles that have a longer shelf life without...

    Nutrient pH Availability charts..

Yeah definitely. Like I said, my shits good. Buddy says his is good. 2 different ranges. Just got me wondering where the legit max uptake zones were for each nutrient, and if I could be having my systems drift higher.

    Nutrient pH Availability charts..

Thanks for the responses... All of the charts are for cannabis specifically, that's why I'm confused. I could understand slight variances, but there is some insane differences between some of the charts.

    Nutrient pH Availability charts..

So I recently got into a debate regarding pH range's for hydroponics... Mainly what ranges calcium and magnesium are available at. The other grower was saying he always runs at 6.2 or higher in hydro otherwise he gets calmag defficiencies I figured I would ask the community here what you guys...
