Get em capt! I hate those things too. They came in every bag of coco we bought (royal gold) except coco loco, I think that one had the occasional gnat.
I have been using the botanicare bricks for over 6 years now. Easy to store just buy it buy the case. So much cheaper than buying the coco in the bag ready to go. And you do not need to worry about getting any bugs that way. Of course i am saying this and i have a infestation but they did not come in the coco. If you want to go that route just hit me up and i will tell you how i charge it up super easy.

I used to hate bricks but that botanicare is so nice and fluffy when you rehydrate it. I will get more bricks and keep them handy. Way easier storage. 20 bucks a brick here at the local store.

ECSD & GG4 update week 7 :. It has been almost a month long battle with these fungus gnats but finally under control. However during that period several of the plants developed witch i felt was a calcium deficiency. So i hit them pretty good with cal-mag and results were the same to worse. So i did some flushing today but with only around 2 weeks left not sure how they will fair out. First 3 shots is the ECSD and the last 3 are the GG4.gg4 & ecsd 7 weeks 005.JPGgg4 & ecsd 7 weeks 002.JPGgg4 & ecsd 7 weeks 001.JPGgg4 & ecsd 7 weeks 010.JPGgg4 & ecsd 7 weeks 009.JPGgg4 & ecsd 7 weeks 006.JPG

Looking nice man. Are you going to keep the hydroton layer on top with your blumats? Do you use that as a fungus gnat deterrent?

Mac i normally use them for mulch but only a couple clay balls deep. During the battle that was increased to over a inch deep to try and deter them. I will probable not use them to start with on the Blumats so i can keep a eye on the coco. I am excited to set the blumats up. Just has so much potential to make life easier. I know those tips look a little burnt but i never exceed 750 ppm. Not exactly sure what happened but i am pretty sure it was from lack of calcium. Hopefully they will finish okay

Looking great Cap'n despite your battle. Loving the rose buds on the ECSD. Similar to mine but yours are more pronounced. Can't wait to see em fully plumped.

I was just curious how hydroton would work with the blumats. I'm really not that far ahead of you on knowledge with these things, so I still wonder about different scenarios. Good stuff and your plants look good to me man. Lil burnt tip never hurt anyone, lol.

Houston we have a problem. I am pretty convinced 90% now that all 8 of my plants are GG4. I guess my eye is not that good. I really did not start to pick up on it until week 6 of flower. I started thinking at week 5 that they were awfully similar. My mom room must have 2 GG4s. I was keeping them pretty wacked up trying to control height so i did not see the likeness. Mistakes happen but this one was not on my end. I received two clones one marked ECSD and the other GG4.They must have both been GG4. Sorry @spyralout for sending the pictures to you of the ECSD. Only real excuse i have is this is the first fun of these strains. I was looking forward to the ECSD DAMN!

Hah no problem. A little of the tips of the rose type structure started to look similar but they were very different from mine, getting more filled out if you will. Was starting to wonder lol!

Houston problem solved. I was wrong as usual. Both have been verified to be correct on the original post. These two strains are a lot alike. I am posting the shots i took this morning just to show how close they are. The first 2 pictures are GG4 and the second 2 are ECSD. You know it man. I was telling one of the guys that looked at the plants that i guess if you look at something long enough you can learn to identify them. Probably similar with me working on the water i could identify boats from long distance. Just from looking at them every day.

Yea, to me, the way they look at this stage, you could of told me they were clones from the same mother; I wouldn't have thought twice about it.
Reminds me of the way a mother can tell the difference between her identical twins, when nobody else can.
Really like the way they look though.
Nice looking plants.

Thanks @Highsince76 . I can not tell you how relieved i am about the ID. It was driving me batshit crazy thinking how i could have made a mistake like that. How is dang fung treating you ?

Very well. Thank you. I'm on my second atomizer though. Not sure if it was me over using or just faulty, but they replaced it no problem or questions asked.
Hey @Highsince76 you should consider purchasing a spare atomizer. I had ordered 2 of them and because of a snafu on there part i wound up with three. Very nice just to drop the used one in alcohol and screw on the new one and BAMM ready to go

That's a good idea. So you do submerge the atomizer completely in alcohol? I was sort of wondering if that could have been what fried mine. Normally I'd use alcohol and q tips to clean it. I read other people were dropping them completely in alcohol and I decided to try. First session after I did that, it quit on me. I've been leary of it since I got the replacement. It sure is a lot easier that way if it don't harm the heating element.
