Have you ever seen it in person? It's pretty small, and it has been moved. The crack in it happened in the 1700s when they pulled it from the bed to move it. I live nearby, so I've seen it a ton of times, and every friend who has asked me to bring them to see it has said it was an underwhelming experience
there are a lot of old land mark stones, that are fliped on the face or however,at 1 time dad bought a narrow strip of ground, while clearing, we found trees that still had vine on them egg shaped took about 15 ft home for door stops, all the aunts and uncles needed 6lb chunck or three then the sandstone outfit needed river access that sold but i still know where thats hid.

My point was that the billionaires and politicians keep trying to sell rising tides and global bullshit while buying beachfront homes.

In other words, it's one of those memes that make the elites say "hush peasant, eat your cake..."
Dr Nicholas Flemming lived his research. The English channel was actually connected to the main land and fisherman bring up mammoth bones regularly.

True - but are those ice-age level changes that happen over quite a few years, or the result of an interstellar object making impact?

I believe there were "Atlantis" like societies before the last ice age killed off MOST of them. Not saying they had computers but they were not hunter/gatherers. If you think about what would survive a global catastrophy it's easy to see how humanity would be reduced to basic survival and forget things with no practical value.

Anything made of metal would rust and deteriorate - except that solar calculator they found encased in a shipwreck in mud or other things similarly "hermetically sealed". Things like the pyramids (that are global) would never have been built by any hunter gatherer society. We are finding things using LIDAR that are older than the pyramids and built on a grander scale but have been covered with either millenia of detritus or were immediately buried by fallout from an impact.

Main thing is that "science" tries to explain too many things based on their own personal beliefs and expectations. If a scientist cannot concieve of a thing, it is not an object they study. An earlier, more advanced society that was mostly erased by the last ice age explains a lot of things but no one thought of it as more than a myth of Atlantis - when that myth could have had basis in fact.

Oh - fucking stoner....

My point was that an impact that causes a major climate shift and the resulting fast melt of glacial ice is more likely to cause devastating tidal changes. We have moved lighthouses away from crumbling cliffs - but the tide level hasn't risen in that time. If the change is slow we adapt.
