Bud structure...

I have a question about bud structure.

is the density and shape of the bud genetic or environmental (Both actually) but how much of each?

How do you ensure the densest buds under the same parameters? without weird addititves.

I think it is a lot genetic. But light distance and nutrient strength play a big part in it too. A lot of you have enough experience to make a more educated guess or actually know.

Thanks

I have to say the spacing is genetics and how much they fill is dependent upon the grower . Jmo

I am running alot of dif strains and they all get the exact same treatment . So I end up noticing alot the subtle differences. So in my opinion u can grow two buds that look very similar in shape and size but the density can vary , mostly from light intensity

What i did was fuck around with different nutes too much. :D or did i...

And for the record...i am glad shit goes south...because how the hell can you learn anything if everything goes perfect everytime.

How can you advise others if you have only had success.

we learn in the shit of it...that is the truth as I know it

Pretty sure density is directly related to how well the plant was grown. Genetics play a role as well, some will be fluffy no matter what you do. Takes a good grower to make them genetics shine. You have to make that perfect environment, one cockup your not going to reach full potential.

I think environment has the biggest effect. Temp, Humidity, Light intensity, fresh air, water, nutes, etc.
AKA, grower.
The strain is going to do what it is going to do. It has a maximum, but no minimum. Pulling the maximum potential out of the plant is how to get the big yields, and density.

bud structure comes from genetics in my opinion. But that structure comes from how well the environment is dialed in.

Weve all seen foxtailing and what it does to bud structure. Can have something you know for certain should produce dense golf ball nugs but bc of the light being to close or it being to hot in the room it can cause the plants to foxtail. youd get a more airy elongated bud structure vs the dense gold balls youd get if everything was dialed in perfectly.

Do u notice some dont like the ppm or some want more?
Do u think a hungry plant is an airy plant?

The benefit of led is the distance from plants. It has alot of forgiveness the hid dont get. Also they allow for a higher top end to temp limit. 82f ime.

I agree with pretty much everything so far about light and environment. But the original question was:

How do you ensure the densest buds under the same parameters? without weird addititves.
This assumes the grower has whatever environment they want already dialed in. You can only feed a plant so much and give her so much light before you kill her, so pruning is the other easy option.

Topping breaks the apical dominance of the plant (big fat center cola) and is the first thing to do if you want many fat buds instead of one giant and the rest medium to large.

Every primary sprout on a plant that gets a node and starts producing secondary sprouts detracts from your overall top-weight.

"Lolli-popping" the stems on any plant works to do this, like a scrog, but on a regular (non-scrog) plant you should leave the leaves on and just take the sprouts - more leaves feeding less flower sites.

A manifold/mainline LST that combines all of those techniques seems to be the best way to get the most density that your genetics will provide.

I agree, mainlining takes a little time, but it's a great way to get fat, uniform buds/colas.

Also, assuming everything else is the same, knowing when and how much bloom booster to add affects density. I've grown my wedding cake s1 with megacrop and no bud blaster, and the buds were huge, but when I grew it out next run, I used bud blaster and the buds were a little smaller but were dense as fuck, basically rock hard.

Which one do u use?
I use liquid koolbloom by gh I like It for the $

But this is assuming you would add that to all your plants anyway. It said without weird additives.

I have done several side-by-side grows pruning plants different and stems on the same plant different. The plants grown in the same size pot, same strain, soil, etc. have generally ended up the same overall weight. The difference was in the bud size, nug size, etc.

I was using bud explosion by Greenleaf nutrients (megacrop) but I've switched to supernatural products (bud blaster) because it's buffered, which means I don't have to check the pH. I have over 12 five-gallon DWC buckets I'm running all at once and I got sick of checking the pH on every one 😂

True... it's so normal to me, I sometimes forget people think of it as a weird additive 😂
