Uv light

So after dealing with mold twice in my adventures now, I'm getting a uv-c light so when I move anywhere I can sterilize the vents rooms etc to try and curb the issue. I was also thinking about putting one in the tent that I can have turn on 30 mins or so and rotate from the under and over (not sure what would be recommended watt and time wise) or if this would harm the plants. Most studies I see seems to lean towards benefits but that's mostly with UVb . Anyways my question is this something you've seen done or reccomend in the tent? Any tips or suggestions.

I use a UVC to sterilize my wifes and my mask after we go out and our phones but be very careful your eyes and such as UVC is very strong.
UVA & UVB is much better for plants, I use 4 foot fluorescence tubes (solarcure) that are quite strong. Website is below, dennis brown the owner is a wealth of knowledge on UV and cannabis and has some good reading on his site and I am sure there is something about mold on there. I run them in all my tents and results are clearly visible. PSA they are not cheap but I run mine for a year at 2 - 3 hours a day depending on how old the tubes are. You can buy the fixtures at any home depot or lowes so you can just buy the bulbs. I even run 1 in veg tent for sanitation purposes using the old ones when I change out the bud tents

Yea I was aiming for the uvc do to its killing power but didnt know if it would be too potent for the ladies. Gonna have to do more searching . Yea I wouldnt even turn it on around me. It's not something you want hitting any part of you from what I've read.

From what I was reading UVC would kill you viruses and mold but it could burn your plant up easily. 15 to 20 minute bursts is all you would need for your plants. I added 12 uva , 8 infra red, and
8 far red from rapid led to my quantum boards and I have noticed alot more frost on everything. I wish they had uvb. Maybe some day they will. Good luck

Be real careful with that UVC, I think I read it would do tissue dammage. Love talking about this stuff. Imo it's the most important part to growing. So easy to build

I would only run it on a set amount of time and when I'm not around it.

Rapid led offers a new supplement light called violit. Uvc definitely use in small burst for best results. 3 5 min intervals. Or such. Ive been looking to add all uv ir and far red since those lack in my hlgs

Hello I have a uv sterilizer for my water after whole house two stage filter ... then goes to ro/di system .... and I am just starting my rdwc build and I used to have uv sterilizer in my systems back in 2009 .... not sure if I’ll need that since I’m treating water on way in but I’m thinking it wouldn’t hurt-insurance.
I also have a iv sterilization unit for the grow room air - it covers 10x12 area and cost 950$ but once again insurance against any powdery mildew ....
When researching for the room sterilizer I seen iv for sterilizing objects and stuff ....

I successfully curbed the onslaught of P.M. using uvC light I bought off amazon for around 30$ its a CFL and i had it set to turn on for 15 minutes before lights out.
I also use it like the previous posters to kill mold in odd places that are around the house in the basement.
@Opie1 also uses it.
I used greencure early in flower and switched to milk and the uvC light and made it to harvest luckily.
I woulda been fucked with the quarantine if i didnt make,it to harvest.
If any smoke big outdoor joints all day. But i can hit the bong over anf over hahah

I was told it wouldn't work in my situation. The uv raises the temp. This will make the sulfur smell even worse....so I'm told by a water purifier salesman. Long story. Don't get ur water tested at home depot!!

Agromax and Hortilux both make uva-b bulbs now. HTG supply sells them both. I talked to one of the guys there and he said these bulbs only need to be turned on for 15 minutes every 3 hours. So basically 4 times a day during lights on. You can get 8 Agromax Pure UV two foot bulbs for $100. The fixtures will cost more.

The guys at HTG Supply are helpful. Give them a call if you need specific info. They know what's up, especially with these type of bulbs and how to use them.

I just started a topic on this but attracted internet idiots that wanted to argue. I run a tube from Amazon 10 minutes a day. With phenomenal results. I have a naturally moldy environment and have totally eradicated Powdery Mildew. If anyone wants the details hit me up.

It didnt attract idiots, you just didnt like the response you got. You even said your a noobie and when growers tell you that maybe this isnt the best idea you get all ruffled up? Then you necro some old thread from last year to continue to insult the growers trying to help you out? How old are you again? Starting to think your actually a kid. You're acting like one.
